The Rutherford County Landfill is the County-operated Class III/IV (Construction/Demolition Wastes & Yard Debris) Landfill.
There is no charge for Rutherford County residents bringing less than one (1) ton per year of waste from their personal homes with Rutherford County vehicle tags, but we charge $30 per ton for all vehicles that do not have Rutherford County vehicle tags and for all commercial vehicles.
• We only accept cash and checks, not credit or debit cards. •
We accept the following materials:
Farm Waste – not pesticides or automotive fluids
Landscape waste – branches, leaves, clippings
Land Clearing waste – soil, stumps
Construction waste – brick, concrete, masonry, soil, rock, lumber,
road spoils & paving materials
Demolition waste – shingles, roll roofing
The following materials are NOT accepted:
Plastics of any kind
Metal (including Tin & Aluminum)
Appliances of any kind
Fence wire or wire of any kind
Carpet or linoleum of any kind
Household trash of any kind
The materials not accepted at the County Landfill can be taken in small amounts to one of the County Convenience Centers operated by the County Solid Waste Department.
The County Landfill also provides disposal of ten (10) off-the-rim car or light truck tires per Rutherford County resident per year at no charge. All additional light passenger tires will be charges $1.00 each and all large tires are charged at the rate of $65.00 per ton.

The Rutherford County Landfill operates on the following schedule:

of each Month
|8:00 AM to 11:45 AM|
|Closed||Saturday & Sunday|
The facility and grounds are available to all eligible persons regardless of age, race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or veteran status. The facility and grounds will not be used by any organization that would put the County in competition with private business. Questions concerning the eligibility of use will be referred to the Public Works Committee of the Rutherford County Commission for resolution.
